The XXII Symposium of Cryptogamic Botany, hosted by FCUL from July 24th to 26th received researchers mainly from Portugal and Spain. Ricardo Cruz de Carvalho presented a work entitled "Is morphology inducing desiccation tolerance in bryophytes?" in which he described the importance of bryophyte colony morphology, with different life forms, as a trait that controls water dehydration rate, correlating with individual shoot desiccation tolerance, a characteristic that will help to select the best species for sustainable green roofs.
